Did He Really Just Say That?

So, while we were playing at the new, and wonderful "Miracle Playground" in Dothan the other day~Grant started to walk away from me and Reagan. I was trying to keep them close to monitor them(him) from injuries(causing them of coarse). I said "Grant, don't go too far, I want to still be able to see you from where I am right here." He turned around, looked at me so seriously, and said "Mom~ I will be right over here playing on this DNA." How in the world does he know about DNA? Now, I would love to take credit for this, but his Daddy is a chemistry teacher. And, in Grant's spare time he enjoys watching National Geographic, Mystery Hunters, and Billy the Exterminator. Billy really isn't that impressive, but, he loves to learn about nature and everything SCIENCE! The other parents just looked at me like I was crazy. I could hear them talking about letting kids be kids. Can you say JEA~LOUS! Just kidding. We have our faults. They have no idea!

Celiac~Really?????

Okay~so to further complicate things around the Horne home, we now have this little headache called celiac to deal with. Before Scott and I got married, he was diagnosed with having the antibodies for this condition. He is, of coarse, NONCOMPLIANT! So, as time passed, we just forgot about it. Now, this "celiac thing" means I have to cook~ALOT! Heaven help us! No bread, milk, wheat, rye, barley, etc.
Now, Grant has some "extra energy"AKA: ADHD. Well, I don't want to medicate him. So, the internet and all of the research has taught me that 80% of children in one study were misdiagnosed with ADHD and really had celiac. This would also explain the rash Reagan has from time to time that no cream the doctors have prescribed have cured.
FINDING THE HUMOR: You know we always do. So, real short. Grant says "See Momma, it's all your fault~ feeding me that poison food made me have SILLY-ACT ~ That's why I get in trouble." How funny is that?!!! Well, we had the official blood work done on Grant and Reagan and we get the results on Tuesday. I don't know what the BEST result would be. I guess we will go with what God has planned. Celiac or ADHD? The choice could be alot more difficult. So, with that said, remember all of those little children that are suffering from much more severe health conditions. Lindsey Steltenpohl continues to be in my prayers. Please count your blessings and realize how much good God does each day. Don't only ask where He is when things go bad. Take time to REALLY think about the positives even in a bad situation.

Botanical Gardens

These pictures are to mark the 12 month age for "LITTLE MISS PRISS"! Okay~ I confess that they are a little late. But, better late than never RIGHT? I have been so blessed with healthy, happy, smart, and, I think BEAUTIFUL children. Reagan just brings a little spice to our life. As if we needed any more! She is picking up on all of her brother's tricks. They are little comedians. The other day, Reagan acted like her precious "dog-dog" bit another one of her animals. She popped him, pointed at him and said "NO" and then she picked up the victim and patted it on the back and rocked it. So funny. I wonder what goes on in that little head of hers. Reagan~I love you so much! I thank God every night for blessing us with such a sweet little girl. I hope you always keep your kind spirit and your tender heart. You always share, and when Grant gets upset(usually after a spanking)~if he cries, you cry right along with him. Your heart is so BIG. I love you so much!

Fun at Honey's House

Grant and Reagan love to go to their Honey's house. As you can see, they pretty much do whatever they want. This was an unscheduled water play day! Reagan was not done playing with the horses~notice how she "dead legged" Honey and made her drag her. Grant is just livin' and lovin' life. He is care free! I love my children and my mother. She helps me so much with my little ones. They have the "textbook" grandma who lets them get away with EVERYTHING! Her famous line would have to be "Now Jan, He/she didn't know~please don't spank them this time. They won't do it again." PLEASE~ this is not the mother that I had. I would have never gotten away with the things that she lets slide. I love her though!

Don't Complain

And, don't say a word about all of the spelling errors and no pictures people! Read the post, I have a lot going on! Just kidding. I will post some pictures soon.

Pattie Cake, Paddles, Peek a Boo,and Prayers

So, here is the latest:
REAGAN continues to be a quiet, graceful, sweet little spectator of this crazy little life we live. She has learned to point her little finger and say "NO, Don't, Stop It!" Of coarse she is talking to Grant. Her vocabulary is getting so vast-so fast! She can say anything you ask her to. She came to me yesterday with a diaper and said "DIAPER". Reagan loves to play pattie cake and peek a boo! She is precious. Some of her favorite things include our chandelier, light sockets, make-up, and CLOTHES! She has became very opinionated about her daily attire. I offer her two choices, and she gets to pick. It makes her sooo happy.
Now for what you all have been waiting for-GRANT UPDATE~
We had our first parent/teacher conference. I never dreamed Scott would be so vocal and ask so many questions. So, here are some of the highlights: Scott wanted to know if he was in the highest reading group, if he ranks at the top of everything, basically he wanted to hear her say we had the smartest kid in the class. WOW! Wonder where Grant gets it! So, after Mrs. Martin's interigation, we saw "Chicken Little" peeking around the bookshelf. He made his way over and sat in my lap~in the miniture chairs mind you- Scott could not have been comfortable. I think they do that so you won't stay long. So, as Grant looked over his report card, he was pleased to see all of the 4's on his card. But, when he saw the 2, he said "A 2 -momma, what does that mean?" I told him we needed to work on counting. Scott continued the questioning and Grant whispered in my ear "Momma, that's a lie, 12345678-see Momma, that's a lie" I was hot all over, praying Mrs. Martin was distracted by the questioning Scott was doing. I think Scott was just as upset with the 2 as Grant was. Mrs. Martin said well, a 3 is the highest, its not a big deal. Scott said "He can count to 25, he just has a speech problem" Grant said "yeah, you probably didn't understand me. I tried to wrap it up so we could go. I had had enough!
Moving on to the next event~OUR FIRST PADDLING by the PRINCIPAL! oh yes we have that one to cross off our list people-and its only the last day of the 1st NINE weeks in KINDERGARTEN. He was "SKIPPING CLASS" Twice! He left the room when his teacher wasn't looking and went to his Honey's room. My mom tried to sneak him in the second time but she got busted. I got the call at 1:42. I told her to just paddle him. He wasn't too impressed with her skills. He laughed and said she had a little bitty ruler. I told her I would make sure she had proper equiptment if there was a next time.
Grant gets upset when he has to put a stick in his pocket at school. This is their disciple technique. So, when Grant kept correcting the substitute-he racked up 3 sticks in one day. He said he was just telling her that she was calling the boy the wrong name "that is not HOE-FWAY"-Translation "Jose" we need speech. So, when I asked Grant what he learned hoping to get "Don't tell the teacher what to do" or " Keep my mouth shut" Grant says- Get READY PEOPLE:

"Well MOMMA, I learned her name is Mrs. White~ and she BROWN". What will I do with this boy?
