Our little "ladybug"!

We are having Reagan a "ladybug" birthday party. We took some pictures today to use on her invitations. These are not the good ones. I just wanted to post a couple. In the last picture, she looks concerned about why we put her in the bird bath. And, in the one where she is laughing, it looks like her ear is sticking out, but it is just the headband. FUNNY! Of coarse, Grant was my assistant making her laugh. Alyssa was also there with her cell phone that has the ringtone California Girls~ Reagan's favorite song at the moment. If she hears it, she drops everything and starts dancing. Thanks for the help guys!

Looks can be deceiving!

Reagan looks so sweet BUT~ She went in for the kill. She acted like she was going to give Grant some good night sugar, then all of the sudden, she grabbed his glasses and took him down. You see, she was NOT excited about him being in her bed. This is where she rests until bedtime. I love the picture of her smiling after her mission is accomplished. And, that pink thing is a dog she loves. She must have it to go to sleep. And I do not like stuffed animals. I will give her anything to get her to sleep though.

Relaxing after a warm bath

Grant and Reagan enjoyed some time reading on the couch while I got supper ready. He is so good with her. She loved the animal book. She would laugh so loud every time the monkey page came up. They both got tickled. So sweet!

Beating the Heat!

Okay~ We really aren't this country, but Scott and the kids were outside cleaning out the coolers that we used for the day of fun for Lindsey. They were super hot, so the kids decided to cool off. Reagan and Grant love to take their clothes off. They had so much fun playing together. I love these two kids! Grant put some dirt on his face to look super tough. Reagan can hold her own though. I had to post a picture of what Reagan's hair looks like when it gets wet. Super curly. And, I have realized one thing Grant got from me! FINALLY something! He gets really tan, really easy. He is golden brown despite wearing sunscreen. No Burning!

Pictures of storm damage

This is just a late post of pictures from the storm Sunday. HORRIBLE!

No Really~This happened!

Okay, so we have not posted in a while. I have a story to tell all of you. I will have to post pictures later. Sunday night I was in the kitchen putting bottles in the dishwasher with Reagan on my hip and the swing out on the back deck flipped and almost busted out our kitchen window. I went to the bedroom where Grant and Scott were and reported the details.

Scott got up and we all looked out the window. Scott was explaining the weather to Reagan and telling her all about it. I was just about to open the blinds on the window next to the one Scott was looking out of, but thank God~REALLY~Grant broke the string last week so we could not raise them.

I was holding Reagan and Grant was standing right at my feet~ We saw something black, then BAM! Our window burst. Glass went everywhere. I grabbed Grant up and turned my back to the window. Reagan had glass stuck in her shoulder, and I had glass in my back, Grant just had a few pieces in his feet. His glasses protected his eyes~Thank Goodness.

Scott rushed us all to the closet. Our trampoline had crashed into the house. It tore part of the roof off, busted the window, and shredded the trampoline. We also lost our grill, our basketball goal, and we have to get new carpet. Our dresser in the bedroom is scratched, it looks like razors were scratched down the top of it. Since we have glass breaks in our security system, we have to get that replaced as well.

So, where is the humor in all of this? Of coarse we found some. It was not the $1000.00 deductible. So what was it? When all of this was happening, we heard the sound that everyone says a tornado sounds like. It sounded like a train coming. We were sure it was a tornado until HONK HONK! Not funny at the time, but really funny now. In case you aren't aware of the details, we have planes, trains, and automobiles right here! Right next to the Dothan Regional Airport there is a train track as well!

DO NOT MAXIMIZE PHOTOS BY ORDER OF JAN!

So, if you did maximize the pictures, SHAME ON YOU. You probably noticed the additional skin when I was modeling the WeeRider. How Dare YOU! And, the hand cuffs by Grant in the picture of he and EllaBrooke were not there for any reason. They are a toy set. We did not force our children to help label envelopes!

Random Thoughts!

Okay~ so I need to clarify one of the pictures from the earlier post. In the group picture of all of us girls, the large sweat ring around my BELLY is not sweat! Promise! I had been holding Reagan after she bounced on the inflatable water slide. Now that is my story!

Moving on~ I have to post a picture of my WeeRider. Grant loved to ride the bike with me. I was always a little nervous having him behind me, so, low and behold, if you look hard enough on the internet, you can find anything. You will get a work out FOR SURE!

A little bit of humor from before the Fun day for Lindsey. Lori and I worked long hours. We even put our little ones to work. Please don't call DHR. They loved helping. They were so excited to be doing something for Lindsey. They felt so important. Aren't they just the cutest little things!

The other pictures are just of my precious Grant. My mom always said a child will be what you tell him/her she is, so we are going overboard with Grant. He is all boy and can hang with the biggest and baddest of them all. So~ we are telling him he is calm and sweet and so kind to his little sister. I sure hope this works MOM!

Moms with a Heart~Meet at the Park "FUNdraiser"

SUCCESS!!!! Our FUN-draiser was so much fun. It was hot, So, Lori and I did end up going down the water slide! Of coarse it was after everyone left. I did some serious sweating! Hope I lost a -couple of pounds. I was a little self -conscious because there were some super cute volunteers there. Jenn(Newman) & Ashley(Skinner) were officially uninvited by me~because of their "CUTENESS" but they showed up anyway.

Lori asked me where to put the volunteers, and I told her to make sure they(Jenn and Ashley) were AWAY from the wienie's ~and I was not talking about the hot dogs! I was talking about the men! :) Especially my husband. And by the way, Scott was super help the day of the event. We kid him about his "outgoing personality". He joked and said we should put him at the greeting table to welcome everyone. I told him we would have lots of leftover weinies for sure! It was our anniversary too! I could not have been anywhere better. Happy 6th anniversary Scott!

We ended up raising more than $6500! There are a couple of local businesses and individuals that are going to mail their donation. We could be close to $7000 when all is said and done.

I made the "LITTLE" ones some onecies. I felt bad because the shirts said "My Mom has Heart" because it left out the daddies who had done so much. I printed off daddy too and I was going to put it on the back of their bottoms. Lori had the super funny idea of putting "CANCER STINKS" I loved it. I asked her if we should put "Cancer stinks~Daddy too" since we already had it printed off. We opted not too though.

All in all, it was a great day. Thanks to everyone for all of the hard work. I have to mention my mom. She was out their all day helping. She missed the pictures because she was so hot she could not stand up!!!!! Thanks mom for all of your help this week!

Graduation, Attitutes, and Tattle Tales

Jessi, Marcia's daughter, graduated from GCHS. She is such a sweet girl. She plans on going to Wallace first to get her basic studies out of the way, and then I think she is off to AUBURN for physical therapy school. She was salutatorian of her class. So smart.

Will, MaryLynn, Jody, Pam, Leah, JayAustin, Mom, me, and Reagan went to see Jessi graduate. Will is always a little nervous to hold Reagan, she always spits up on him. Poor boy. Just bad luck I guess. But, she always does it. He agreed to hold her for a quick photo. MaryLynn on the other hand means she is going to get her turn.

Leah and JayAustin were there as well. They love their new sister Jessi. She is so kind to them. It would be hard to adjust to two new siblings and a new step-dad, but Jessi has made it look so easy and she shares her mom as well. I don't know if I would have been so mature as a senior in high school. I know I wouldn't have been!

Now for drama at the Horne House. Reagan means she is going to be with her brother~all the time. So, when Grant went to his room and locked her out, she did not take it so well. She obviously understands discipline. She went and got the paddle and brought it to me! I could not believe she did that. But, she has had to learn fast to hang with Grant!

Consider yourself Warned!!!

Fathers lock up your daughters! We could not keep Grant away from these girls. And then, when we would get up in the morning, they would be waiting outside our gate. They thought he was soooo cute. He loved every minute of it. He even told Alyssa he was sneaking out to go see them! We are in for it! Reagan loved the water. Uncle Jeff took her out in the ocean. He was exhausted from her trying to get away from him and get in the water.

Thanks to Uncle Jeff for letting us stay at the condo. We had so much fun. And, Thanks to Joel and Allison for the cute Polo swimsuit Miss Reagan was sporting. She looked so cute!

And~we FINALLY found an effective way to have Grant serve his TIME OUT! He couldn't move. He did not like it too much! :)

Now~ look at the rainbow we saw. It was a complete circle around the sun. I have never seen anything like it before. You wouldn't believe who we were talking about when we noticed it! TODD! Some friends of ours from Skipperville were asking about the family~ specifically the boys and Alisa. Scott said, "Jan~Look up" I could tell he was insinuating the same thing I was thinking. It is just so neat to have this happen so often. Way more than a coincidence.
